Bosco Verticale Milano Italy

Architectural Design:
BOERISTUDIO (Stefano Boeri, Gianandrea Barreca, Giovanni La Varra)

Slowly the city of Milan is preparing for the 2015 world expo. In different places in the city arising new quarters with high-rises and parks. Porta Nuova is one of these areas. With some buildings already completed and others in the middle of the construction phase the area is slowly changing into futuristic quarter. Bosco Verticale (vertical forest)  is one of these mad buildings. Composed of two residential towers of 110 and 76 meters height and will host 900 trees (each measuring 3, 6 or 9 m tall) apart from a wide range of shrubs and floral plants. It’s beyond a concept (as we can see in the last shot) instead these vertical forests will soon dominate Milan’s skyline.

Imagine living on the 17th floor of an highrise while looking out of your window as if you have a garden with trees.
