One man's style must not be the rule of another's

Living Under Pohutukawa Trees by Herbst Architects

Auckland-based studio Herbst Architects designed this mesmerizing Under Pohutukawa residence. It is a two story beach house located in northern New Zealand.  Big evergreen Pohutukawa trees (Metrosideros excelsa) define the outside area while the house itself is perfectly shaped to fit in this ‘forest’ of curly trees.  Large glass panels let in plenty of light and gives you also lot to look at when you’re inside. The structure is mainly wood as you would wish for when looking for harmony in this perfect garden.

Under Pohutukawa is beautifully detailed and luxurious residence with the beach not far away.
