Everybody wants to be Marilyn Monroe

It was Radiohead that sung in their 1993 album Pablo Honey: ‘Grow my hair, I want to be, want to be, want to be Jim Morrison’ [Anyone can play guitar]. The female version of Jim Morrison might well be Marilyn Monroe, we are just waiting on the first band that sings ‘Curl my hair, I want to be, want to be, want to be Marilyn Monroe’. Everybody wants to be Marilyn Monroe.

After the quite succesful movie ‘My Week with Marilyn‘ with actress Michelle Williams as the sexy vamp the actress herself appeared in some magazines as the blonde alter-ego. Of course there followed some other magazines with a Monroe-ish styled fashion shoot. We combined them here for you.

It all started with Michelle Williams, shot by Annie Leibovitz for Vogue.

Then CQ magazine decided to spice it up just a tad more called photographer Michael Thompson to do the job and let Michelle Williams show of sexy underwear from Stella McCartney, Agent Provocateu, La Perla, Alexander Wang and others. for their cover shoot.

Used Magazine turned to Marilyn Monroe lookalike Suzie Kennedy in a retro style photo shoot by photographer Nik Hartley and the styling done by Katy Lassen. The late Hollywood glam is completed by glamorous black and white vintage style photographs and the designers worn are Prada, Comme des Garcons and Dries Van Noten among others.
